High-Pressure Water Blasting

High-pressure water blasting, also known as hydro-blasting, is the process by which a highly pressured stream of water is used to remove old paint, chemicals or buildup without damaging the original surface.

High-Pressure Water Blasting

PCiRoads uses state-of-the-art water blasting equipment offering ultra-high pressure (UHP) blasting with simultaneous vacuum recovery of liquids and debris. The process rapidly opens pores making the blasted surface ready for high performance coating systems. It works with a variety of surfaces and removes a wide variety of surface materials such as mastic, rubber, curing compounds, release agents and bond breakers, leveling compounds, paint and thermoplastic, elastomerics, epoxies and more.

Water blasting process can be used in horizontal and vertical applications. It can be done outdoors and indoors, in occupied facilities with very little impact to workers and with inventories left in place. It is environmentally friendly, dustless and odorless. The process produces an excellent bonding surface for your maintenance and construction projects or hazardous surface mitigation.

Hydro blasting is the preferred way for surface preparation:

  • UHP water blasting is cleaner and less wasteful than abrasive blasting.
  • Compared to abrasive blasting, UHP water blasting leaves 98% less residue.
  • UHP water blasting is dust free.
  • Dust free environment allows coating to happen simultaneously with surface prep.
  • Dust sensitive areas can be maintained while surface preparation is taking place.
  • Removal of multi-layered coating systems is possible.
  • Preparation of specific areas is possible without harming the surrounding areas.
  • UHP water blasting is less aggressive and will not change the physical property of the surface.
  • There is no damage to sensitive areas such as welding seams and connecting joints.
  • It provides lower cost for disposal of material.
  • Prepared surfaces are contaminant free.
