- Frequently Asked Questions
Fireproofing
Fireproofing is a process of applying specialty coating barriers to steel structures in order to provide protection and make the structures more resistant to fire.

PCiRoads has approved applicators of both cementitious and intumescent fireproofing who are specially trained and committed to delivering the quality of product and services demanded by the manufacturer.
Cementitious fireproofing is a Portland cement-based compound of high density designed with high durability standards for the protection of interior and exterior structural members. It provides high density, concrete-like protection and can be sprayed to either interior or exterior areas.
Intumescent fireproofing is a thick film coating that is applied with reinforcement materials. In the event of a fire the coating provides a heat resistant shield to protect the steel substrate from the effects of the fire that could cause weakening and collapse of the structure.
Fireproofing during fabrication
PCiRoads can now fabricate your elements and apply epoxy fireproofing coating in the paint shop before delivering them to you. This significantly reduces cost and work time at your location.
