- Are you a union contractor?
Yes. We belong to "The Association of General Contractors of America" and employ 450 union tradesmen annually.
- Are you limited in the size of project your company can handle?As one of the Midwest's largest specialty contractor, the spectrum of our work is as broad as our clients' needs. We welcome projects of any size and partner with you to find the solution to your most challenging problem. PCiRoads is an industry leader in all aspects of heavy infrastructure restoration, large projects and routine maintenance.
- Can I hire you to do fireproofing and tank lining?Yes. PCiRoads has the capability to apply intumescent and cementitious fireproofing on projects nationwide. We are a qualified and certified applicator of tank lining systems either sprayed or troweled. Our large workforce is highly trained in the latest techniques and product application.
- Can IronWorks assemble and pre-assemble ductwork?Piece markings and post fabrication assembly per customer spec.
- Do you build new or only restoration work?PCiRoads focuses on restoration of major infrastructure. We serve the transportation market that recognizes the quality of our work and appreciates the value of an investment in our craftsmanship.
- Do you do sandblasting and waterblasting?Yes We abrasive blast using recyclable shot blast, grit blast, and low to ultrahigh pressure water blasting and jetting up to 40,000+ PSI.
- Do you have an overhead crane?Our Fab Shop has two 10-ton cranes; each crane covers 60' wide x 100' long x 26' high. We also have five five-ton cranes, and two two-ton Jib cranes.
- Do you have rail, highway or barge access?PCiRoads has convenient access to all three modes of transportation. Our facilities are one block from a railroad spur.
- Do you have the ability to paint items at your Fab shop?We have Blast and Paint Booth facility at our IronWorks location in Becker, MN, where we finish everything from ductwork to bridge beams/steel supports. Our location, quick turnaround, and quality service make PCiRoads the choice of engineers/owners. We have ongoing contracts with our energy clients to fabricate and coat their ductwork and other parts of their projects.
- Do you lease your equipment?No. We sell the same highway barrier systems we use on our own projects. Our representative can help you find the products you need for your next project, whether it's crash cushions, TMAs, steel barriers, or some other specialty system. - Do you remove lead paint?Yes. We perform lead abatement, as well as other hazardous paint removal in our reclaiming blast booths.
- How big of steel components can you handle?Our blast and paint booth is 35 feet high and 30 feet wide. We have two 10-ton bridge cranesand cover 60' wide by 100' long by 26' high, five of the 5 ton Cranes x 20', 24' and 36' bridges, and two of the 2 ton Jib Cranes x 16' beam.
- How do I select a qualified professional contractor?PCiRoads encourages prospective customers to check our references and review our completed projects. Our membership and participation in trade associations and The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) demonstrates our company's commitment to contractor education and exchange of ideas with fellow contractors.
- In what areas of the country do you work?While PCiRoads is one of the largest restoration contractors in the Midwest, we offer all of our services to customers nationwide. We go where your project is.
- What about abrasive blasting?We use a wide variety of media and methods including ultra-high pressure water blasting (45,000+ PSI), baking soda, and coal slag, at jobsites and in our yard. Our commitment to quality control and environmental awareness ensures the safe completion of your project.
- What are some of the specialty tools and equipment that IronWorks uses in their shop?IronWorks list of equipment include Production Saws, Flame and Plasma Cutting table, Brake Press, Shear, Sheet Roll, Punching, Notching, Radial Drill, Mill with in house drawing systems using Solidworks and AutoCad.
- What are the performance capabilities of PCiRoads?We employ an average of from 450 Tradesmen which gives PCiRoads a distinct advantage when scheduling large projects or "fast-track" jobs. Some large infrastructure restoration, like bridges, roads, dams, and tunnels projects, has required more than 60 Tradesmen on site at one time.
- What are your duct work capabilities?We do steel fab duct work of 10Ga or heavier (square or round). We are currently running producing 25,000-30,000 pounds per week.
- What capacity or tons per month, per shift and number of shifts is IronsWorks capable of providing to get the project completed?IronWorks can provide 1 shift on five, ten hour days and can handle up to 30,000 plus pounds per week with 2nd sift capabilities.
- What certifications and qualifications does IronWorks have to provide the owner/engineer?IronWorks can provide the following: GMAW,FCAW,SMAW,GTAW & Qualifications: AWS D1.1, AWS D1.2, AWS D1.5 08, AWS D1.5, AWS D1.6, SSPC SP1, SP2, SP3, SP6, SP10, SP11, SP15, SSPC VIS 1.
- What coating capabilities do you have?Our Fab Shop has the equipment and training to sandblast, prime and paint (Airless and Plural Systems). Our mobile crews can do painting, lining and fireproofing on your construction site.

- What is the American Shotcrete Association?ASA is an industry association founded in 1998 to: (1) encourage and promote the use of shotcrete, (2) educate and inform the construction community of the benefits of shotcrete, (3) provide potential users of shotcrete with a reliable reference source, and (3) support and promote training of craftsmen in the shotcrete industry.
- What kind of access do you have into you facility?We access into and out of our facility by truck, rail and barge.
- What kind of QC program do you have?We have our own Quality Control Manual and use an independent source for testing. PCiRoads is an industry-leader and maintains the highest standards in all our work.
- What kind of sand blasting media do you use?Depending on the job requirements, we can use any number of different media including glass beads, aluminum oxide/glass beads, aluminum oxide beads, silicon carbide beads, walnut shells beads, garnet beads, plastic, etc.
- What kinds of items do you fabricate and paint?We fabricate and paint bridge retrofit components, pipes, columns, sheet piles, bridge sections, ductwork, trusses, tanks etc. IronWorks sandblast, primes and applies the coatings per owners/engineers specification by Electro Static/ Airless/ Conventional and Plural equipment. Galvanizing and Powder Coating is offered but is out sourced. We paint in shop and at your site.
- What method of tracking materials, keeping track of pieces of a project to make sure it is complete?IronWorks tracks the pieces with Excel Spread Sheets. The project is checked at various points with in our QC program. Ship tickets are checked against product to be loaded.

- What QC programs does IronWorks have for quality assurance?Ironworks has a operating Quality Assurance and Quality Control Program. IronWorks Quality Manual is a controlled document and at the request of the customer a copy will be issued. Testing of welds per customer design and spec is out sourced and documented through IronWorks QC program.
- What type of work can your iron works do?Our Iron Works shop has the capabilities to fabricate, machine and weld. We also offer abrasive blast operation and painting, all at our Becker, MN, location.
- What types of coating do you use?We apply zincs, epoxies, urethanes, coal tars, water based paints, and most all high performance specialty coatings and fireproofing.

- Why is there an ASA Underground Shotcrete Education Program?Mine operators and tunnel owners and constructors expressed an interest in educating the work force involved with using shotcrete as a ground support method to improve and ensure the quality of their constructed projects. The program provides the basics of the shotcrete process to include materials selection and testing, basic equipment requirements, skill requirements for the nozzlemen and crew, proper shotcreting techniques, and safety considerations in the underground environment. Educators are selected on the basis of their experience and knowledge of the use of shotcrete for ground support.
