Coating
Coatings are high performance materials used to protect industrial surfaces from physical or chemical abrasions and heat, and sometimes provide aesthetic properties such as color and sheen.

The polymers mostly used in industrial coatings are polyurethane, epoxy and moisture cure urethane. There are many other types of industrial coatings, such as inorganic zinc, calcium sulphanate, epoxy vinyl ester and others.
Coatings are applied in the industrial painting process after the surfaces have been properly prepared. A variety of painting methods can be used to apply coatings including brushing, rolling, airless spray, plural-component spray, squeegee and trowel applied. One-part-paints such as single-pack alkyd enamel are applied using brushing, rolling and spraying, which can take a while to dry, and as such are not always convenient or durable. Crosslinked polymers such as epoxies and urethanes, which are typically plural-applied, are used where rapid cure, chemical/abrasion resistance and solvent free coatings are required.
Where spraying is required or desirable but overspray contamination is a concern, PCiRoads recommends the use of our exterior DryFall coating system featuring high performance epoxy and urethane coatings in almost any color.
A complete coating system may include a primer, intermediate coat and a top coat.
PCiRoads always follows the coating manufacturer’s recommended application instructions in their data sheet to insure a quality painting project for the owner.
