Problem to Solve
Existing expansion joints had failed causing water leakage through joint system down onto structural steel support girders causing corrosion. Concrete repairs, joint replacement and steel coating were located over land, railroad tracks and water.
Work Scope
Perform 18,800 SF substructure repairs utilizing dry process shotcrete method and bridge deck repairs. Remove and replace existing expansion joint systems. Structural steel repairs. Abrasive blast and apply protective coating to structural steel located 10’ on each side of expansion joints.
